How much does flooring installation cost in Tampa Bay?

Installed flooring in Tampa Bay typically ranges from budget-friendly laminate and LVP to premium engineered hardwood, tile, and stone. Material grade, square footage, subfloor prep, and layout complexity all affect price. Most homeowners receive a free written estimate from Nuve Floors after an in-home visit. See our cost guide for ballpark ranges.

What flooring is best for Florida humidity?

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP), porcelain tile, and properly installed engineered hardwood perform well in Florida humidity. Wet rooms favor waterproof LVP or porcelain. Nuve specifies engineered hardwood—not solid plank—for most wood-floor projects because it is more stable on concrete slabs. We help you choose based on the room, not a one-floor-fits-all pitch.

Do you have a showroom?

Nuve Floors uses a shop-from-home model. We bring real samples to your door so you can see them in your lighting and against your walls—no showroom trip required.

Which areas do you serve?

We serve Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Hernando counties—including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, New Port Richey, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Trinity, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Largo, Brandon, and Spring Hill.

How long does flooring installation take?

Many single-area installs finish in 1–3 days after prep. Whole-home projects depend on square footage, material, and whether demolition or leveling is needed. You receive a clear timeline with your estimate.

Is LVP waterproof?

Most quality LVP is waterproof at the surface and is the floor we recommend for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and homes with pets. Follow the manufacturer’s wet-area rules so the warranty stays valid. Bargain thin vinyl is not the same product.

Can you refinish existing hardwood instead of replacing it?

Sometimes. If the floor has enough wear layer remaining, professional sanding and refinishing can restore it for less than replacement. Thin-veneer engineered floors often cannot be sanded. We inspect and advise honestly.

Do you install tile in showers and bathrooms?

Yes. We install floor tile, wall tile, shower and tub surrounds, and can coordinate broader bathroom remodeling with flooring expertise at the core.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Nuve Floors is licensed and insured. We also offer free estimates and stand behind our workmanship.

Engineered hardwood vs LVP—which should I choose in Tampa Bay?

Engineered hardwood is real wood—better in living rooms and bedrooms when you want authentic grain. Waterproof LVP is better where water is a daily risk. Many Tampa Bay homes use both: white oak engineered in the main rooms and LVP in kitchens, baths, and laundry. We help you decide during the sample visit.

Can you install flooring on stairs?

Yes. Stairs should match the floor. We glue LVP or engineered hardwood treads—never floating click-lock—and use matching nosing from the same collection when the manufacturer makes it. Overlay caps cover existing steps; a flush nose is the built-in look.

What does wear layer mean on LVP?

The wear layer is the clear coat on top of the printed wood look. Thicker lasts longer against pets, chairs, and grit. For busy homes, a thicker residential wear layer is the spec worth paying for. We show the difference on samples.

Is waterproof laminate the same as LVP?

No. Waterproof laminate handles spills better than regular laminate—often a 24-hour rating—but it still has a wood-based core. Waterproof LVP is the better floor for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and whole-house installs in Florida. Laminate is the budget wood look for dry rooms.

Do you install large-format and wood-look porcelain?

Yes. Large porcelain tiles and wood-look planks are what most people order for baths, kitchens, and entries. Large tile needs a flatter floor; wood-look planks should not be laid in a 50/50 brick pattern or edges lip. We prep for that and use slip-resistant finishes on wet bathroom floors.

Can you match stair treads to my new floor?

Yes—and that is the right way to do stairs. The closest match is a tread and nosing from the same collection and batch as the hallway. We glue the treads down and finish the top landing with a stair nose. A “similar” kit from another line usually looks off in your lighting.

Do you remove old flooring?

Yes. Demolition and haul-away of existing flooring can be included in your project scope. We confirm details in the written estimate.

What brands do you work with?

We install premium materials from leading manufacturers and can also install customer-supplied flooring when products meet quality and warranty guidelines.

Do you work with realtors or staged homes?

Yes. We support pre-listing refreshes, investor turnovers, and staged homes with efficient timelines when scheduled in advance.

Is there a workmanship warranty?

Yes. We stand behind our installation workmanship. Manufacturer material warranties vary by product—we explain coverage before you buy.

Can you match new floors to existing rooms?

We help with color matching, transitions, and stair coordination so new floors blend with adjoining spaces as closely as product lines allow.

Do you install commercial flooring?

We primarily focus on residential projects and can discuss light commercial needs case by case. Contact us with your project details.

How do I prepare my home for installation day?

Clear rooms, move small furniture if possible, and secure pets. We provide a prep checklist before your install date.
