Porcelain vs ceramic
Porcelain is denser and typically better for floors and wet areas. Ceramic can work on walls and lighter-use floors. For showers and entries in Clearwater and coastal homes, porcelain is usually the safer default.
Texture & slip resistance
Glossy tile looks sharp but can be slick when wet. Matte or lightly textured finishes are better for bathrooms, lanai-adjacent entries, and households with kids or pets.
Size & layout
Large-format tile means fewer grout lines and a cleaner modern look—but needs a flatter substrate. Smaller mosaics suit shower floors where slope and grip matter. Patterns (herringbone, brick) add cost and visual interest.
